Here’s the questions:
1. Carrie is planning a holiday for 5 people for 7 days.
Here are the costs of the holiday for each person:
Travel £120
Hotel £ 60 per day
Spending money £225
Work out the total cost of the holiday for 5 people for 7 days. (3 marks)
2. Change 23 metres to cm (1 mark)
3. Change 250 metres to kilometres. (1 mark)
4. (a) Work out 3/4 of 254 (2 marks)
(b) Work out 65% of 460 (2 marks)
(c) Work out 8.9 x 12.4 (2 marks)
5. Write the ratio 32 : 48 in its simplest form. (2 marks)
6. A map has a scale of 1 : 30000
The distance between two points on the map is 6 cm. Work out the real distance between the two points. Give your answer in kilometres. (3 marks)
7. On the grid, draw the graph of y = 2x – 1 (3 marks)
8. Josh needs 40g of sugar to make 15 biscuits.
He also needs: four times as much flour as sugar
1.5 times as much butter as sugar
Josh is going to make 60 biscuits
Work out how much sugar, butter and flour Josh needs (3 marks)
9. Solve 7p + 30 = 9 (2 marks)
10.A film starts at 7.45 pm. The film lasts 98 minutes.What time does the film finish?
(2 marks)

These types of grade 5 revision questions appear in all the main GCSE exam boards – Edexcel, AQA, OCR and Educas – and are fairly common for non calculator papers.
